For anyone asking “what is the forex market?” this article will take you through the bare-bones basics of this particular investment avenue. Though investing in forex can be an extremely complicated undertaking, with the right training and practice (zero risk), you can truly become a pro trader within a relatively short time span.
So what is the forex market? Quite simply, the word “forex” is a combination of two different words – “foreign” and “exchange.” Essentially, forex is simply the buying and selling of different currencies is such a way that profits can be made by upgrading your money’s value.
In other words, it is much like the stock market in the sense that you want to buy low and sell high. For example, if you are currently holding the U.S. dollar valued at $1.00, and the Japanese yen is currently valued at $.75 USD, then you can purchase 100 yen for only 75 bucks. Then, if the yen rises above the value of the dollar, say to $1.25 USD, then you can trade those 100 yen for 125 U.S. dollars and your $75 investment has yielded you a $50 profit!
Does this make sense?
There are many complex algorithms and chart readings you would be wise to understand, but this can all be learned in a relatively short period of time. I’ve found that one of the best ways to learn is to simply trade “fake” money on a practice account, also known as a demo account.
This type of account can help you get your feet wet without actually risking any of your own money. And we all know that there is nothing like a bit of real world experience – even if only simulated – for gaining a clear understanding of the skill we are attempting to master.
My advice is to soak up all the free forex market information and training you can, then move to a demo account. Finally, after you’ve developed a trading system that works for you, make a small investment and see how you do. A little bit of intelligent, calculated risk will prove to be your greatest teacher. As your experience (and success) level rises, invest more – and reinvest a portion of your profits. This is how to become a super successful trader!
